In 2010 the Department for Education launched the South Australian Teaching for Effective Learning Framework (TfELF) which is the basis of our learning environment for primary students.
The framework is designed to enhance teaching and learning techniques for both teachers and students. The 4 principles include:
- learning for effective teaching
- creating safe conditions for learning
- developing children as expert learners
- personalising and connecting learning
More in-depth information about the TfELF principles can be found on the Department for Education website.
In the same year, South Australia joined with other states and territories to accept the Australian Curriculum to standardise the curriculum across the country. Mathematics, science, English, history and geography have already been phased into the current curriculum, with other subjects to be implemented over time.
As expected of all schools, we will be working within these new curriculum guidelines and reporting your child’s progress to you on a regular basis.
